Which is the cheapest smartphone in the world? The answer lies in India

The cheapest smartphone in the world

An obscure company from India has managed the impossible: they have created a smartphone that is priced at $4. Yes, you read it correctly, that’s four US dollars for a smartphone with interesting features. The company is called Ringing Bells and their product is called Freedom 251. This could be a major breakthrough for India, offering the possibility for poor areas to connect with the world.

The cheapest smartphone in the world has a 4-inch display, a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3 GHz, 1GB of RAM and 1,450 mAh battery. In the multimedia section we find a 3.2 MP main camera and 0.3 secondary camera. There is 8GB of internal storage that can be extended to more thanks to the microSD slot.

Freedom 251, the cheapest smartphone in the world, will run Android Lollipop 5.1. Seeing all these specs, I am amazed that they’ve managed to came up with such a smartphone at a price that’s equal with the price of a hamburger (or less). That’s just amazing!

According to the manufacturer, the smartphone will have one-year warranty and it will be available in 650 India shops starting with June 30, 2016. I hope I will be able to get my hands on this cheap smartphone.
